Harder Community Challenges
If you’re coming up on your millionth playthrough of Stardew, you are going to want to download this mod.
Essentially, it replaces all the Community Challenges with harder ones, making their collection last longer and while offering more of a challenge. There are also better rewards for completing them due to the increased difficulty.
This is sure to make finishing the Community Center a lot more rewarding to veteran players of Stardew Valley.

New Crops/Recipes
Expand your farm and add a bunch of new crops to the game with this new mod out last month.
The new crop descriptions include:
- Blackcurrant (summer/year two): a complex summer fruit, sweet, tart and earthy.
- Blue Corn (summer and fall/year one): a traditional flour corn variety.
- Cardamom (summer/year one): the third most expensive spice in the world, enjoyed in cuisines ranging from Indian curry to Scandinavian flatbreads.
- Cranberry Beans (spring/year two): also known as borlotti beans, these beans are tender, floury and very colorful.
- Maypop (summer/year two): a hardy passion fruit that grows where most passion flowers dare not grow, and tastes great, too!
- Peppercorn (summer and fall/year one): the classic seasoning that might make you sneeze. Harvests in a nice pepper grinder for freshness.
- Red Currant (Spring/year two).
- Rose Hips (summer/year one): tart and tangy, and filled with vitamin C, this fruit packs a healthy punch.
- Roselle Hibiscus (summer/year two): also known as sorrel or Jamaican hibiscus, these plants are grown for spicy leaves and tart fruit more than flowers.
- Summer Squash (summer/year one): harvested when the rind is still tender and edible, these squash don’t keep well.
- Taro (summer or fall/year two): A staple throughout the tropics, these root vegetables must be soaked or cooked before eating.
- White Currant (fall/year two): a cultivar of the red currant, these berries are the sweetest and mildest in their family.
- Clove Trees (fall): an evergreen tree that produces powerfully flavored little flower buds, which have both medicinal and culinary uses.
- Date Trees (summer): an emblem of the tropics, the date is one of the oldest cultivated fruits.
- Pandan Trees (spring): every part of this plant is used, including its aromatic, grassy leaves, fatty nuts, flavorful fruit and fibrous trunk. Aerial roots help support the trunk.
A great mod to pair it with comes from the same modder also out this past month, which offers a bunch of new recipes that include some of the new crops above as ingredients as well as the basic crops.

Farm Extended
Likely the most popular mod out last month, this combines all of the necessary areas for mining, foraging, fishing, etc. in one place on your farm.
Instead of walking through town everyday to get hardwood in the secret forest, stone from the mines, or fish from the lake, everything is now located directly on your farm for convenience. Small chunks of land are located around the empty field of your farm, split off into categories for a dedicated foraging area, mining area, and animal fields (where they cannot escape).
The new farm map has an increased size, and includes minecart and boat shortcuts and a minecart transport as well.
This is sure to provide a fresh new run if you have played through Stardew Valley a few times, or a fun and easy starting off point for new players as well.

Underground Fairy Spring
This mod changes the cave on your farm into a whimsical fairy cave with healing properties. It adds some new decor, as well as a hot spring that restores your farmer’s health bars just like the sauna in town.
You can change into and out of your bathing suit behind the bush next to the springs before you get into the spring.
This would be useful simply for restoring your health bar right on your farm without having to walk all the way to the spa.

Adjusted HUD Clock
Instead of having the clock update every 10 minutes in game, this mod changes it so the clock changes for every in-game minute specifically.
Once downloaded, the digital clock on the HUD in the top right-hand corner will give you a better sense of time by minute. This will also make rushing home to get to sleep before passing out have a greater sense of urgency.
It’s a simple mod, but adds just that little bit of detail to make the game a better experience overall.

Custom Greenhouse
The greenhouse allows you to plant a crop regardless of the time of year, but it’s space can feel pretty limited.
This mod offers a customized greenhouse with a more optimized layout. Included is a 15×15 field, 16 spaces for trees, and a cellar for even more crafting space.
The 15×15 field size was chosen so it can fit nine Iridium Sprinklers perfectly, making the best use of the space

Multiple Marriage Partners
While in the base game you can only marry one NPC, this mod opens up the possibly for poly-amorous relationships with multiple partners.
The one-spouse limitation is removed, and comes with its own console commands relating to how relationships function. You will be able to marry as many marry-able spouses as you like.
There is also the added detail allowing you to kiss people you are dating once they have the ‘boyfriend’ or ‘girlfriend’ label, not just after the wedding when they become your spouse.

Sleepovers
With this mod, you will be able to spend that night at friend’s houses if you so choose.
You will only be able to sleep at an NPC’s house if you have a specific friendship level with them. Asking an NPC you don’t know very well to have a sleepover might make them apprehensive and in turn reduce any friendship points you may have.
This is sure to help if you are rushing you way back home after a lengthy time at the mines, and need somewhere to crash in case you pass out before walking all the way back to your farm.

Japanese Buildings
This mod replaces the exterior of your farm house and upgrades with new sprites that mimic Japanese architecture.
Each is handmade and includes a ton of detail to make all of your buildings have a totally new aesthetic, even smaller items like the well, stable, or junimo hut.
It’s sure to make your farm feel fresh, and likely inspire some really cool crop layouts to match this style. For one fun idea, if you place the Earth and Water Obelisks next to each other this creates a zen garden.
Seasonal versions of the buildings are said to be on the way as well.

Lockpicks
Ever come across a locked door in Stardew Valley and just can’t be bothered to go about the rigmarole to figure out a way to get it open? This is the mod for you.
You’ll be able to access locations much earlier, such as NPC houses, shops, the Wizard’s basement, and more. Green Slimes have a 10% chance of dropping one, and there is a 10% chance it will break while you are using it.
To use the lockpick, hold it in hand and right-click on a locked door to attempt to lockpick it.
