When downloading mods to your version of Stardew Valley, you have to keep in mind that every so often some mods will require updates in order to keep working properly. To make managing this task a lot easier, this mod adds an update menu to your game so you can quickly check which mods need updating at any given time. There will even be links to the download locations to make it even easier. The menu can be found on the title screen once downloaded by clicking a small button to the left of the regular “New” button.
COMMUNITY FARM

This mod offers a very large farm (156 x 156 tiles) for you and up to nine friends to build on together. Approximately 23,000 of the tiles provided can be built on for buildings, crops, decorations, or whatever your group prefers. In order for it to run successfully, it also requires the More Than Necessary (MTN) mod that grants map makers for freedom with where they choose to place items. Make sure you and your group download that mod first so you can all get to work on your community farm.
HALEY DIALOG EXPANSION

If Haley happens to be your favorite Stardew Valley NPC, then you are going to want this mod that adds an expansion to her dialog options. With over 140 lines added, they aim to flesh out her backstory and overall character by mentioning more details about her like how she misses her parents or her passion for photojournalism. This will ultimately make her feel less self-involved and more like a multifaceted character. While you’re at it, why not also a dialog expansion mod for Penny and Harvey that also both released last month?
BLUE CHICKEN MOD

This mod gives a special bonus to blue chickens, making it possible for them to lay a precious pearl instead of the usual egg. If you have a minimum three heart relationship with a blue chicken, there is a 10 percent chance they will lay a pearl the next time you check on them. That percentage can easily be changed if you want pearls to be more common or an rarer experience depending on your preference.

To improve the crafting experience in Stardew Valley, this mod adds tabs to the crafting page for easier access. That way, you can quickly jump to any category of item whether it be bombs, lighting, fishing, furniture, and more. The tabs can also be fully customized, so you can order your crafting recipes however you want. This is a mod that is so good it feels like it should have been included with the vanilla Stardew Valley game in the first place.
REALISTIC FISHING AUTOMATION

There are already mods that automate the fishing mini-game so no matter what you catch the fish you are going after. However, what makes this mod different is will automatically start trying to catch the fish you get on the hook, but is realistic with what you will successfully catch depending on your pole type and fishing skill. This means that if you have the weakest bamboo pole, you likely won’t be reeling in the super rare fish unless you happen to get really lucky. This mod will be perfect if you aren’t into the actual mini-game, but still don’t want fishing to seem so easy it loses all challenge in collecting fish altogether.
WINERY BUILDING MOD

Along with the casks you get in your house basement after you fully upgrade it, you can also make alcohol in a beautiful new winery that this mod adds to the list of purchasable buildings. It can be bought at the Carpenter’s Shop, and all kegs and casks in the building work 30 percent faster than usual. You can see the show time for completion by hovering your mouse over the item. The building itself has an Italian winery vibe with grapes growing on vines visible form the front, and different skins are available for all the different seasons. It’s sure to make your farm look much more cultured and elegant, especially if you grow grape crops all along the outside.
FIXED CLICK COMBAT

This mod adds a quick fix where your character automatically changed direction to face where your mouse clicked on the screen. No matter how far your mouse is from your character, it will turn and face that direction right away. This makes fighting enemies in the mine, especially the flying ones, much easier. The game’s normal function makes it so you have to click on a specific tile to turn that direction in a very rigid fashion, whereas these new controls will be much more fluid to use.

This mod offers more customization options for the cows and chickens you have on your farm. Along with choosing their color, you can also change your relationship level with them for a certain price and can change the maturity level of an animal as well if you want to speed up the aging process. All of these options are available when purchasing an animal, after which they will remain permanent.

Along with the earlier mentioned dialog expansion for Haley, Penny, and Harvey, this massive mod adds a ton of dialog for all 33 characters. The additional 1,500+ lines are all available for those who have a one heart level, with 3,000 in total covering all relationship levels. It’s all canon-friendly, meaning it will be the same topics the character usually talk about with the same tone and personality. According to the mod’s Nexus Mods page, some new changes include:
- Dialogue possibilities frequently change with the season, as with vanilla, but this is more likely to happen than before.
- Bachelors and bachelorettes become more flirty at ten hearts.
- There are a dozen or so new multiple choice dialogue prompts.
- There is new day-before-festival dialogue for many characters (but not in excess).
- Most characters have unique messages to acknowledge new year’s eve and new year’s day, instead of just treating it like another ordinary day.
