World of Warcraft: Legion Patch 7.1 Return to Karazhan Announced at Gamescom

For the sake of everything that is good in the world... don't move during Flame Wreath.

World of Warcraft: Legion Return to Karazhan

At Gamescom today, World of Warcraft saw a lot of commotion as a new patch was announced for the upcoming Legion expansion. Patch 7.1 will see the stalwart heroes return to an important area within the world of Azeroth, Karazhan. A teaser trailer for the patch was released with the announcement and shows the former stewart of Karazhan, Moroes, allowing demons to march inside the magical tower. In patch 7.1, Karazhan will return as a “5-player epic dungeon” that houses all 9 original bosses to defeat. Also included in the patch will be a small raid and the inclusion of new quests and world content. Patch 7.1 will be hitting the PTR servers just shortly after the release of Legion.

Karazhan is to be important to Legion’s story, which makes sense as it was the home of the former Guardian of Tirisfal and overall arcane badass, Medivh, who had some run ins with demons from the Burning Legion. After some nasty demon-possession business by the big bad himself, Sargeras, Medivh was slain and the tower was left without a master. The unattended Karazhan was overtaken sometime later by the power-hungry Prince Malchezaar during the previous World of Warcraft expansion, The Burning Crusade, where it became a large-scale 10-man raid (which will still be playable once Patch 7.1 lands).

Karazhan has been a fan favorite area for a long awhile now and seeing it return in WoW as well as Hearthstone is a real treat. What do you think about the upcoming Patch 7.1? Leave a comment and let us know!
