NieR: Automata’s Main Theme Revealed, Has Two Different Versions

The Pokemon of theme songs.

Today at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, Square Enix unveiled the main theme for their upcoming RPG co-developed with Platinum Games, NieR Automata. It’s a haunting melody that we hear a hint of months ago, and now has two different versions performed by two different artists. It still remains to be seen how these two different theme songs will play into the game.

The first version features the vocals of Emi Evans, who also worked with Square Enix on the soundtrack of Drakengard 3. The melody itself features a piano as the instrument, and is a bit calmer than the other version released. Take a look at it below.

The second version of Automata’s theme features the talents of J’Nique Nicole, and is also the English version. It uses a guitar as its main instrument in contrast to the other version. Take a look below.

NieR: Automata will be launching sometime in early 2017 on PS4, and as Square Enix announced today, PC. The game was originally supposed to release in 2016, but was delayed for polishing and to help it achieve financial success.
