We meet director Toshifumi Nabeshima, character designer Yoji Shinkawa, and mecha designer Takayuki Yanase as they discuss the game’s development.

If you’re unfamiliar with the names, Nabeshima-san was director on the first Armored Core and then worked as a producer for pretty much the rest of the series. He also wrote the script of Dark Souls II.

Yoji Shinkawa probably needs no introduction, as he is the super-famous character designer behind the Metal Gear Solid series, on which he worked with Hideo Kojima since the onset.

The name of Takayuki Yanase might be a little less familiar, but he also worked on the mecha design of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, on top of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Xenoblade Chronicles X. On top of its work on video games his long career in anime features masterpieces like Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Tokyo Ghoul, Mazinger Z: Infinity, Broken Blade, and many more.

You can enjoy the video below. If you want to read more about Left Alive, you can read our recent interview dedicated to the game. We also just saw the launch trailer and another gameplay video explaining how the game works.

You can also enjoy more recent gameplay including more featuring Wanzers in action, another group of clipsthe latest TV commercial, a video focusing on the soundtrack, and the unboxing of the collector’s edition.

Left Alive launched today (Feb. 28, 2019) in Japan for PS4. It’ll come west on March 5 for PS4 and PC.
