Nintendo has released a couple new trailers introducing two brand new party members that’ll join you in the 3DS version of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. Red and Morrie were NPCs in the original PS2 title, but they’ll be joining in as fully playable characters this time with their own unique moves and weapons.
Here’s a quick description of each character, and you can watch the new trailers down below.
Red – Long time bandit and former companion of Yangus, Red joins your party as a well-rounded character with the ability to use a new weapon: fans.
Morrie – Are you full of GUSTO or PASSION!?! Then Morrie is the party member for you! Owner of M̶o̶r̶r̶i̶e̶’̶s̶ ̶M̶o̶n̶s̶t̶r̶o̶u̶s̶ ̶P̶i̶t̶ the Monster Arena.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King launches on January 20, 2017 for Nintendo 3DS. On top of new characters the game will also be adding in additional cutscenes and story moments, as well as gameplay changes. Dragon Quest VIII won’t be the only title hitting in 2017, as Square Enix just announced an April release date for Dragon Quest Heroes II.
