How to Observe Leaders in Ghost of Tsushima

Whenever you stumble upon a Mongol-infested area in Ghost of Tsushima, you’ll have to take down everyone if you want to gain experience points and unlock new combat stances. You can kill all of the soldiers normally, but you can get extra points for observing the leader of the group before killing him.

The leader of the group will more than likely be practicing some sword skills or they could just be walking around. The only way to actually observe the leader, though, is by getting close to them without them noticing you.

Once you get close enough, you’ll see a prompt on the screen telling you to hold down the R2 button to observe the leader.

Once you hold it down for a few seconds, you’ll get that extra point towards new stances and now you can kill the leader to get that other point. Just crouch and sneak around until you can get in a perfect position.

And if you do happen to get caught before you’re able to observe the leader, just leave the area until the guards lose sight of you, and then you can try again. Smoke bombs can be a fantastic option to help you sneak away if you have some on you.

And that’s all you need to know about how to observe leaders in Ghost of Tsushima. For even more helpful tips and tricks, be sure to check out our ever-expanding Guide Wiki.
