Fortnite’s week 9 challenges have arrived, and players are this week tasked with tracking down and popping 10 golden balloons. If you’d rather not spend your time searching for them yourself, fear not, we’ve got you covered. Here are all gold balloon locations in Fortnite.

The bullet point list below gives you a quick snippet of all of the gold balloon locations in Fortnite. However, if you’re looking for grid references, screenshots, and more detailed directions, be sure to keep scrolling down.

  • Frosty Flights – Just north of the runway on a sign.
  • Haunted Hills – On the roof of a crypt in the northwest area.
  • Motel – The Gold Balloon is right in the hole in the sign.
  • Lazy Links – Head northeast and look for the rock at the very edge of the map by the river. The Gold Balloon is hiding right behind it.
  • Wailing Woods – Head to the wooden tower coming out the top of a house to the north of Wailing Woods. It’s at the very top on the east side.
  • Retail Row – Head southeast and you’ll find the Gold Balloon attached to the Bear Statue.
  • Paradise Palms – Head east and you’ll find the Gold Balloon in the field outside the old farmhouse.
  • Fatal Fields – On the windmill in the center of this location.
  • Lucky Landing – Head southeast of this named location. You’ll find this balloon behind the hill right in the south of the map by the river.
  • Trog’s Cave – Head to the southwest of the Iceberg biome, west of Happy Hamlet. Head down into Trog’s Cave, break the wooden barricade to enter the hut and find it on the north wall.

We’ve gone ahead and broken down these locations in a little more detail, including images below. Please note in our images below, the balloons are silver, or almost frosty-looking. When you head to these locations in-game, however, these will now be golden and are 100% correct for the challenge.

Frosty Flights Gold Balloon Location in Fortnite

Head to grid reference A8 and land on the runway at Frosty Flights.

Just to the north of it, about halfway down, you’ll see the sign below. The balloon is attached to it, so go ahead and shoot it.

Haunted Hills Gold Balloon Location

Next up is this one in Haunted Hills. You’re heading to grid reference B2 for this gold balloon location in Fortnite.

Specifically, you’re looking on top of the crypt roofs. The balloon is attached to it, as shown in the image below.

Motel Gold Balloon Location in Fortnite

This one’s incredibly easy to spot. Head to the motel in reference D2. The balloon is in the hole in the sign.

It’s generally handy to ensure you’ve got a ranged weapon of some sort to pop golden balloons in Fortnite, as you can then pick them off from a distance rather than getting right up close to them.

Lazy Links Balloon Location

Next, you’re heading to grid reference G2, just northeast of Lazy Links itself. Keep heading up to the very north of the map over towards the river that runs down the middle of the map.

When you reach here, you should see the rock in the image below. The gold balloon is hiding just behind it.

Wailing Woods Gold Balloon Location in Fortnite

Next, you’re making your way to the tower just northeast of Wailing Woods. It’s kind of extending out the top of a house that straddles grid references I2 and J2, if you’re struggling to find it.

Once you spot it, you want to head to the northeast corner and look up. The balloon is waiting to be popped at the very top.

Retail Row Balloon Location

For this next one, you actually want to head the hills to the southeast of Retail Row in grid reference I6. You should be able to spot a Bear statue just at the foot of the hills next to a rock.

As you can see in the image below, this balloon is attached to the backpack of the bear.

Paradise Palms Gold Balloon Location in Fortnite

You’ll want to head directly east of Paradise Palms in grid reference J8. Look for the old farmhouse and then you’ll be nearby.

The balloon can be found in the fenced plot of land just outside of the farmhouse. It’s attached to a wooden cart.

Fatal Fields Balloon Location

You want to make your way towards the very center of Fatal Fields. Specifically, aim for the very southwest corner of the eastern-most field, as shown below. It’s in grid reference G8.

You’ll then be able to spot the windmill here. The balloon is attached about midway up it.

Lucky Landing Gold Balloon Location in Fortnite

Next up, make your way to Lucky Landing, and head to the southwest corner. You want to make your way to the top of the mountain in grid reference F10, as shown in our image below.

You’re then going to look downwards to the southwest. The balloon is hiding at the very bottom here.

Trog’s Cage Balloon Location

The final balloon to pop in Fortnite can be found in Trog’s Cave, which is in grid reference B9. You’re looking for a circle of trees with a gap in the middle of it. Check our screenshot below.

From there, drop down inside, and look for the little wooden hut. You’ll need to break the wooden barricade over the entrance. An adorable teddy bear is holding the balloon.
