Changing Clothes in Dying Light 2

  1. To change clothes in Dying Light 2, press the touchpad on PS4/PS5 or menu button on Xbox One/ Series X|S and then tab over to the ‘Inventory’ screen.

  2. Here, you’ll have lots of different slots around your character in the center of the screen. Each slot represents a part of the body where gear can be equipped.

For example, the one we’ve selected in the screenshot here is for the ‘Body’ or torso.

  3. Select the box that you want to change the equipped gear/ clothing for and then press X/ A.

You’ll now be shown all of the clothing that you’ve got that can be equipped in that slot. Highlight the one you want with your on-screen cursor, and press X/ A again to confirm your choice.

It’s worth noting that changing clothes doesn’t just change what your character is wearing, but some items also grant boosts to certain character stats, making them more suited to different playstyles. For example, the Quarterback Jersey is perfect for the ‘Tank’ playstyle for those who like to get up close and personal with the Infected.

How to Get More Outfits

To get more clothes in Dying Light 2, you’ll need to go scavenging around the world. You’ll more often than not find clothes and other gear pieces like hats, gloves, braces, and shoes from containers around the open world.

There are no specific containers you need to be looking out for here, but generally, if you see something that you can search for or an item that can be interacted with, it’s always worth checking it out and seeing what you can dig up.

Do note that higher-level gear is typically found in areas such as GRE Anomaly zones, GRE Facilities, Convoys, and other areas that are generally dangerous and/or require you to visit at night time.

You can also buy more clothes in Dying Light 2 by visiting one of the merchants at any of the survivor hubs dotted throughout the world. These do cost quite a bit of Old World Money, though, so make sure you’ve got the cash to splash before you go browsing.

That’s everything you need to know on how to change clothes and get more outfits in Dying Light 2. For more tips, tricks and guides, head over to our wiki or see more of our coverage on the game below.
