How to Fix Damaged Packages in Death Stranding

As you make your way through Death Stranding’s World and story, you’ll be tasked with delivering a variety of packages to the world’s characters. How successful your delivery is depends on several factors, including successfully delivering the package, the speed of the delivery and, of course, the condition of your packages upon arrival at their destinations.

While this may seem simple and straight-forward enough, it can be surprisingly easy to damage your package, either because of a fall, enemies attacking you or some other hazard presenting itself.

Fortunately, it is possible to repair the container around your package to prevent further damage should this occur, though you’ll need to be quick about it to minimize the penalty.

How to Use Container Repair Spray

First, open up the inventory and select the package option. Then, select the Offload option to place it on the ground in front of you.

Next, hold right on the D-Pad to open up a menu of items you can use. The item you’ll want to select is the Container Repair Spray, an item obtained early on in the game which can be readily obtained from most settlements.

Select the Repair Spray to equip it. Then, hold L2 to aim and then press R2 to fire it at the package. This will restore the container’s condition, and prevent further damage to the package.

Time needed: 2 minutes

So, to summarize how you repair packages with Container Repair Spray in Death Stranding.

  1. Open your inventory screen

Do this as soon as possible after damaging your container and package.

  2. Select the Package option and then the Offload option

This will allow you to place the package and container in front of you, allowing you to interact with it.

  3. Hold down the Right directional button on the D-Pad

This will allow you to cycle to and equip the Container Repair Spray.

  4. Hold L2 to aim the Spray and then press R2 to fire it at the package

This will use the Repair Spray on the package and repair damage done to its container, maintaining its condition and preventing further damage.

How to Repair Packages Without Repair Spray in Death Stranding

Of course, should you find yourself in a situation where you don’t have any Container Repair Spray in Death Stranding, there is another option available for repairing your package.

Whenever you enter a Timefall Shelter, your package will automatically be sprayed with Container Repair Spray, restoring it to as close to pristine condition as possible.

As such, you can and should keep an eye out for these shelters to keep your package maintained, especially if you’re out of Container repair spray.
