Ahhh the Mako. The little rover that handled like absolute trash in the original Mass Effect game is back once more in the reworked version of the game in Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. While the controls have been reworked so you no longer want to cry every time you step inside it, it can still be a little finnicky getting out of it. In this guide, we’ll run you through exactly how to get out of the Mako in Mass Effect so you can continue with your space opera adventure.
Getting Out of the Mako
First things first, you’ll need to make sure the Mako has completely stopped moving and is perfectly still. The rover also needs to have all four of its wheels touching the floor. If only three are, then, again, it still won’t let you out.
As long as these two conditions are met, all you then need to do is press B on Xbox or Circle on PlayStation to get out of the Mako. You’ll then be able to explore the planet you’re currently on, or hop back inside by walking over to it and pressing B/ Circle once more.
What’s Changed with the Mako in Mass Effect: Legendary Edition?
As part of the various gameplay changes to the original Mass Effect, the Legendary Edition gives an overhaul to the handling of the Mako, promising a “much smoother ride while still being loveable like before.” It’ll also bring faster shield recharging, new thrusters to help on the awkward terrain of alien planets, and improved camera controls so it doesn’t all feel quite so awkward.
That’s everything you need to know on getting in and out of the Mako in Mass Effect 1 as part of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition. For more tips and tricks, head over to our wiki, or see more of our coverage on the game below.
