Tears of the Kingdom throws a huge number of items, foodstuffs and resources the way of players. Some are new and some are classics, but does Hearty Durian return in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
Is Hearty Durian in Tears of the Kingdom?
We’ll cut right to it: you won’t be able to find Hearty Durian anywhere in Tears of the Kingdom because it does not return in the 2023 title.
In Breath of the Wild, Hearty Durian was incredibly valuable because it restored Link’s health and provided a temporary increase to his number of hearts. As a result, it was worth cultivating more or less whenever it was discovered.

It’s not in Tears of the Kingdom though and, to this point, no exact reason for its omission from Hyrule has been given. There are a lot of similar items though, with Hearty Radishes, Hearty Truffles, and Hearty Lizards all present in TOTK and offering similar (if not identical) bonuses to players when consumed.
It’s not the only Breath of the Wild element that’s been dropped in Tears of the Kingdom, with the infamous Divine Beasts – Vah Ruta, Vah Medoh, Vah Rudania and Vah Naboris – all absent.
Fan theories have emerged to explain the absence of the Divine Beasts, but there’s no conjecture about why Hearty Durian doesn’t return. It’s possible that the devs simply wanted to diversify food items and freshen up players’ cooking.
