Will Tears of the Kingdom be the Last Zelda Game? Answered

The Legend of Zelda remains one of Nintendo’s largest and most popular franchises, delivering fans a huge amount of games across the past three and a half decades. Luckily for all Zelda, TOTK and video game fans, this means that it’s highly unlikely that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be the last game in the Zelda series.

Within days of its release, Tears of the Kingdom passed 10 million units sold, making it the fastest selling Zelda game in the franchise’s history. It seems incredibly unlikely that Nintendo – both the developers and the publishers – want to move away from a series so successful and presumably lucrative.

A recent Game Informer interview with producer Eiji Anouma revealed that the success of Breath of the Wild and TOTK had guaranteed the future of the series, with the team now favoring the same familiar open-world approach for all future installments. As of now, there’s no way to know for sure what the development team has planned exactly, but more games seem a pretty safe bet.

That’s everything you need to know about if Tears of the Kingdom is the last Zelda Game. For more helpful gameplay guides, lists, and news, check out the rest of our content by scrolling down and looking through our related links below.
