The Call of Duty games have had an exclusive DLC deal with Xbox for years since the release of the original Black Ops in 2010. With until last year’s release of Black Ops 3, they switched hands and went PlayStation exclusive.
Now it’s PS4 owners who’ll be getting multiplayer maps first, starting with the Awakening DLC, which released for them earlier this month. On March 3, Xbox One and PC players will finally get their access to Awakening and its four maps–Skyjacked, Splash, Gauntlet, and Rise–and a new Zombies chapter all about time travel called “Der Eisendrache”.For season pass owners, you’ll get the maps when they release, but non-pass owners will have to fork over $15. It’s probably better for you to get the season pass. Sure, it’s $50, but it saves you a little bit of money, and if you know you’re gonna be playing Black Ops 3 for the next year or so, it’s definitely the way to go.
