Naughty Dog has detailed the multiplayer aspect of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and they have revealed that all future maps and modes will be available for free.
The developer detailed their future plans for Uncharted 4’s multiplayer in a post on the PlayStation Blog. On top of the free maps and modes, all vanity and gameplay in-game store items will be unlockable through gameplay. Naughty Dog are doing this because it “means that the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer community won’t be fragmented by different types of DLC, and that those who are loyal in participating in the community will be rewarded.”
Naughty Dog also outlined their policy for DLC. It is a four part philosophy and its four parts are: Fairness First, An Evolving Experience, DLC Accessible to Everyone, Unified Community.
All of the DLC can be unlocked in-game using Relics that are awarded for completing challenges and winning matches. For more details on how the system works, you can see the Playstation Blog.
Not all of Uncharted 4’s DLC will be free since there will be a single player story DLC pack coming at a later date.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be available for PlayStation 4 on May 10.
