Today Capcom announced that Monster Hunter: World and its expansion Iceborne both passed relevant shipments milestones.
Iceborne managed to ship over 4 million copies while the base game is now at over 15 million. It’s the first game by Capcom to ever manage to reach this record amount of shipments, which also include digital downloads.
As a result, the cumulative shipments of the Monster Hunter franchise passed 61 million units.
Capcom also laid out its plans to continue pushing the popularity of the series outside of video games.
“Moving forward, Capcom plans to carry out a number of initiatives to build excitement for the series across a wider audience, including the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne XR Walk attraction, which is scheduled to run at Universal Studios Japan starting in March 2020, as well as the first Hollywood film adaptation of the Monster Hunter series. “
The previous update for Iceborne’s shipments was 2.8 million units shipped as of September 30.

Monster Hunter: World Iceborne is availableworldwide for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One since September 6, 2019, while Steam version was released in January.
