It may not come as a surprise to anyone, but Star Wars titles have made quite a lot of money over the last two months. Not only has The Force Awakens surpassed $1 Billion at the box office in just twelve days but, according to an analyst, Star Wars Battlefront has sold 12 million copies in its first two months on sale.
Selling approximately 6 million copies in both November and December, the hype surrounding Episode VII has clearly ensured that Battlefront’s sales have remained strong after its release.
Analyst Michael Pachter told Fortune the sales figures and suggested that the game has made over $660 million since its release. EA’s COO also suggested that the game was on track to sell 13 million copies by the end of March 2016. Star Wars Battlefront was also the third highest selling game in November 2015, behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Fallout 4.
