Star Wars: The Force Awakens is out, and the internet is full of spoilers. It’s hard to go anywhere without seeing someone discuss the major twists and plot points of the film. The PC version of Star Wars Battlefront is especially unsafe, as players are using custom avatars to spoil the latest Star Wars film.
Reddit user DisneyLines encountered this on the PC version of Star Wars Battlefront. The game allows players to change their avatar to anything they want. Some players decided to use this power for evil and turn their avatar into a text post of The Force Awakens spoilers.
You can see an example of this in the image below. The spoilers are have been blurred out.
Even people who aren’t playing Battlefront aren’t safe. According to a NeoGAF thread, some people are sending Xbox Live messages with The Force Awakens spoilers.
So yeah, turns out people are going through their Recent Players list and sending spoiler messages. I just had the movie spoiled for me by some random doucher, so be careful folks and don’t open any messages from people you don’t know.
If you want to avoid The Force Awakens spoilers at this point, it might be a good idea to step away from the internet until you can see the film. You can also check out some recent news stories here, which are completely free of any Star Wars spoilers.
