Ubisoft has today announced the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, which was revealed during its Forward event back in September, has now been delayed until March 21, 2021. The game was originally slated for a January launch.
The news comes by way of a social media post from Ubisoft’s official channel, which cites complications as a result of COVID-19 as a cause for the delay. The message reads in full as follows:

Truth be told, the delay probably won’t come as much of a surprise to many given how early in development the remake looked during Ubisoft’s Forward event. Of course, it’s always a little problematic attempting to draw conclusions from a short sequence of early gameplay footage, but what we were shown didn’t look all that inspiring.
Indeed, the YouTube announce trailer holds a negative like/dislike ratio, with many of the top comments lamenting its quality. Here’s the trailer in case you needed reminding:
Here’s hoping Ubisoft is able to use the additional time to produce the quality remake that Prince of Persia: Sands of Time deserves.
