Metal Gear Survive, Konami’s first foray into the Metal Gear series entirely without Hideo Kojima’s guidance, is releasing next February. But you’ll be able to get your hands on the game beyond press events and hands-on scheduled time before then, if you’re interested in seeing what it’s all about.
In addition to releasing a video glimpse at Metal Gear Survive’s single player campaign, Konami has announced a new beta period that will take place between Jan. 18 and Jan. 21 next year. You’ll be able to play in co-op mode alongside friends to “build, defend, and fight” through the game for some preliminary testing on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Anyone who participates in the beta will be rewarded a special bonus if they go ahead and buy the full game, including a Metal Gear Rex head, bandana, and special FOXHOUND name plate.
The full game is scheduled for Feb. 20 next year, so if you’re interested in trying it out ahead of release, the beta should scratch that itch nicely.
