HR Games and Funbox Media have announced that they will be bringing Space Hulk Ascension to the PS4 in Europe sometime in 2016, but they have yet to announce when or if the game is getting a North American release date.
The game will be released via both digital and retail outlets, and is currently available for the PC and Mac on Steam where it has received mostly positive reviews.
Funbox Media’s website notes that: “Space Hulk Ascension is a 3D, digital, turn based, strategy game, which builds upon the classic board game experience, and adds new RPG style mechanics, additional weapons, enemy types, an all-new chapter and loads of other new features.” In the game, players will be guiding their unit of Space Marine Terminators through the ancient ship’s isolated corridors as they fight for survival against hordes of Genestealers.
Funbox Media’s website revealed that the game will include 103 missions spread across three campaign chapters with between 50 to 100 hours of game time, apparently. There will also be new Genestealer variations and “RPG-style skill progression and player squad management” so players can create their own squads of marines. Funbox Media also promises more weapons, complex maps, and flash missions.
Manny Granillo HR GAMES CEO also said that: “We are very excited to work with FUNBOX MEDIA for SPACE HULK® Ascension. Their senior staff and distribution capability have proven to be outstanding.” and that “We will work closely with them to bring our franchise title to market.”
