UPDATE: The voice actor in question has now removed the entry for “Devil May Cry 5” from his resume, but our image below clearly depicts the role before it was deleted.
A listing on a voice actor’s resume is indicating the existence of Devil May Cry 5. The resume in question belongs to Nils Hognestad, a Norwegian voice-over artist from Toronto. Among his other listed projects is the “lead” in Devil May Cry 5. This role would presumably belong to Dante, following the critically acclaimed 2013 sequel, DmC: Devil May Cry.
Curiously, if the role of Dante now belongs to Hognestad, this would indicate a change from his previous voice, Tim Phillipps. If this is to be believed, Devil May Cry 5 will also mark Hognestad’s first acting role in a video game. This development also conflicts with a March report that the original Devil May Cry 4 actors for Dante and Nero were working together again. Last October, Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata made comments stating there were no current plans for a new Devil May Cry game. Conflicting reports aside, there is no confirmation thus far that the game exists, so we should take this all with a grain of salt.
What do you think of a potential Devil May Cry 5?
