Minecraft has been around for awhile now, and as a game that prides itself on creation, it has an insane number of impressive projects that gamers have built over the years. As the game gets older and even more gamers are discovering the title, we the players reap the benefits.
Let’s check out some of the most ambitious and stunning works of art the game has delivered thus far, in no particular order.
1.Working Cellphone with Web Browser and Video Chat
Youtube user CaptainSparklez, in partnership with Verizon, showcase one the most impressive pieces of gaming construction seen yet. Taking Verizon’s working in-game cellphone and connecting it to their network, he interacts with himself from his real-world cellphone. Inception!
2. Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings
Do you remember the first time you watched Lord of the Rings: Return of the King? Were you awestruck when the Nazgul were descending upon the White City during the Battle of Pelennor Fields? Well now you can relive the epicness of this fictional city in Minecraft.
Its creator, Reddit user Tyranystrasz has created even more Lord of the Rings creations to check out, too. I guess he’s the Lord of the Blocks.
3. 1:1 Scale Imperial Star Destroyer

There are plenty other Star Wars builds to gawk at, but what makes this one so special is that its creator Fishyy put in the extra work to make sure it’s authentic inside and out. Using over 1,551 blocks on the exterior, this Star Destroyer is sure to give any Rebel scum on the ground a nightmare — or at least the Imperials who would have to man this thing.
4. Center of Valhalla
Some people might write off Minecraft for its pixelated visuals, but certain texture packs can make the game truly look spectacular. Case and point with ThatOldKid‘s Center of Valhalla creation; hell, just seeing it in any texture pack would be a sight to behold.
Measuring 1,300 blocks long, 500 blocks wide and 256 blocks tall, this is a gigantic work of art. If you’re interested, ThatOldKid was kind enough to share it for anyone to download.
5. Minecraft’s HoloLens demo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETzQWXuKQZQ
While not technically something that an average person has built, it showcases what the future of Minecraft could look like with the HoloLens headset. When Microsoft showcased this demo, it brought to light the potential of the HoloLens for interactive creation. Hopefully we hear more about this iteration soon.
