The Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) has listed a new game called Diablo III: Eternal Collection which hints at yet another take on the popular hack and slack Blizzard game. It has been classified under the PS4 and Xbox One with an M (Mature) rating for blood and gore, partial nudity, and violence. The strange thing is that Diablo 3 is already available for the said consoles so this could be a new expansion for the series. The official rating summary lists the following:
“This is an action role-playing game in which players assume control of a mortal hero (e.g., witch doctor, barbarian, wizard) who must defend humanity from a demonic invasion. From a ¾-overhead perspective, players traverse dungeons/caverns and use swords, axes, flails, and magic attacks to kill a variety of human-like enemies (e.g., zombies, demons, succubi). Battles are accompanied by slashing and flesh-impact sounds, screams of pain, and frequent blood-splatter effects; creatures often explode into bloody fragments as multiple enemies are dispatched at once. Some levels depict burning corpses, bodies impaled on stakes, piles of limbs, and dead villagers amid large pools of blood. During the course of the game, a succubus creature is depicted topless.”
The original game sold for $60 with the Reaper of Souls expansion following in 2014. This time, the Diablo III: Eternal Collection might include the anticipated Necromancer class that was announced back in BlizzCon 2016. This character’s theme focuses on blood and the dead as he/she can use their skills to drain their enemies or reanimate corpses on the field.
For now, fans will have to wait for further news about the Diablo III: Eternal Collection.
