8 Destiny Gift Ideas for That Special Guardian

You can't get them an actual working Ghost, so these will have to do.

Destiny is one of those games that just keeps on giving. Every single time you’re done with its tale of space and darkness something gets thrown in that pulls you right back in. Sort of like that Sparrow Racing League that’s going on. It has cemented itself as a game that will forever be remembered and has developed a passionate community that has built up around its existence much like how the Guardians reside around the Traveler.

There’s a good chance that one of these fans is a special person in your life and you’re struggling to think up the perfect holiday gift. Luckily you’ve stumbled into the right place. Here are a few presents sure to brighten up any Guardian’s day.

The Taken King

Video games are expensive. Expansions that completely transform a game are also expensive. There’s a slight chance that the Destiny fan in your life hasn’t upgraded for a number of reasons. Maybe they’re a broke college student, or perhaps they’re in high school and they spent all their money on Pokemon cards (that is what high school students do, right?).

Either way, an upgrade to the best Destiny experience available is a sure home run. Maybe you can even gift it early so they can enjoy the Sparrow Racing League before it goes away.

A Console Fit for a Guardian

Destiny can be an amazing game. There are those moments when you become the clutch member of your fireteam and defeat the odds as you slay huge aliens and overcome treacherous obstacles. The console a Guardian is playing on should match that greatness, and none come as close to doing so as the Limited Edition The Taken King PlayStation 4.

Emblazoned with the Guardian emblem, and the shadow of the star chart that we’ve all come to know and love, this gold detailed, white PlayStation 4 is a perfect gift if you don’t mind spending a bit more than normal. Not only will it look great on any shelf, it opens up a world of gaming opportunities, just in case that Guardian wants to take a little break from raiding, or fighting the Taken King.

You can check it out on the PlayStation website with links to purchase. But act fast, because these things are quickly going out of stock.

A Weapon to Push Back the Darkness

Do you wanna know one of the coolest elements of Destiny? The weapons. Even if players don’t like how each and every one of them performs, some are undeniably cool looking, and any Guardian worth his/her weight in Glimmer will want one of these mounted on their wall (or tucked inside of their vault). And luckily for you, you gift-shopping genius, you’re able to get 3D printed replicas of some of the greatest ones.

It should be noted that these things aren’t cheap in any way, but how many people can say they unwrapped a real world Exotic weapon during the holidays? The Raze-Lighter pictured above goes for $200. But if that special someone prefers their weapons a bit smaller, and much louder, perhaps the Hawkmoon is more fitting. You can always go with the mother of all Exotics, the Gjallarhorn. That way your Guardian can take it into year 2, 3, 4, and beyond.

There are plenty of other weapons out there for purchasing. You can check sites like Etsy and My Mini Factory for more, or just use your favorite search engine.

Some Pocket Change

Maybe an Exotic weapon breaks the bank and you just can’t afford it. In that case, you can just give that special Guardian in your life some start up money and point them in the right direction so they can find Xur’s shop. While many of the gift ideas on this list are large and expensive, these can fit right in anyone’s pocket and is a perfect conversation piece.

These are just as rare in the real world as they are in Destiny, but don’t worry. We’ve found a way for you to get your hands on some without having to fight some vicious, homicidal alien (though you can still do that if you like). Just head on over to  ProfessorCaTPardus on Etsy to snag a few of these Strange Coins.

Armor

So you’ve got them a badass weapon and have started their intergalactic bankroll, all they need now is some armor and their loadout is complete. Now you won’t find this stuff laying around just anywhere. Not everyone is fit to be called a Guardian so you must travel far and wide to obtain a piece of exotic gear. Or you could, you know, search the internet.

Take this Celestial Nighthawk Hunter’s helm for instance. You can find it on SKSProps Etsy page where you can purchase it for that special Destiny fan in your life. Unfortunately, this particular one won’t ship by Christmas, but even if it’s a bit late it’s certainly worth the hassle. There are also cloaks, and other items available to purchase from different vendors, so find the perfect fit for your special someone.

Clothing

Maybe you want to respect what they love but still want to buy them clothes. There’s a way that everyone can get what they want and that’s through Destiny apparel. The Bungie Store has tons of different clothing items for men, women, and children.

With designs ranging from Destiny classes to just some really neat artwork, you’ll be sure to find a few things that are sure to impress. T-shirts, hoodies, jackets, and more are available to keep your loved ones looking good as they wear their legend on their sleeves.

Odds and Ends

It’s easy to become overwhelmed when shopping for the holidays. There are so many options and almost all of them seem fitting. One way to get the job done without breaking the bank is to purchase a few little items and make a sort of gift bag. This can include small toys, simple articles of clothing, coffee mugs, plushes, and more.

Bungie actually has a page on their store full of just that. You can pick a few, or buy them all and throw them into a neat little Destiny stocking. Can’t go wrong with this.

It’s Dangerous to Go Alone, Take This

No Guardian is complete without a Ghost. After all, it’s the Ghost that searches the galaxy to revive you from your death sleep. It’s a good thing that you can find one of these useful thingamabobs and even get it customized too so you can mix up Destiny and something else they love.

There’s an Etsy page dedicated to nothing but Ghost related things. So pick out the perfect bot for your special someone and give them the gift of being…revived?

These gift ideas are sure to increase the light of any Guardian and make you the MVP of the holiday season. Are you planning on picking any of these up, maybe even for yourself? Feel free to share your thoughts on these or any other gift ideas you may have in the comments below.

Happy holidays, Guardians.
