Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy: How to Break Metal and Locked Crates

HOW TO BREAK LOCKED AND METAL CRATES IN CRASH BANDICOOT N. SANE TRILOGY

Recommended Videos

The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is out now and sees the original games look far better than you probably remember. One of the things you’ll do most in the games is break crates that are littered and piled up throughout the levels. Breaking all of them can reward you with special gems and even breaking some of them increases what you have by the end of the level. However, there are metal crates and other locked crates that can’t be opened with Crash’s spin. Here’s how to break locked and metal crates you come across in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

Locked crates can’t be broken using the standard spin but instead require you to use Crash’s belly flop move to break it from the top using additional force. You will get quite a lot of rewards for breaking them so take the effort to do so. It’s worth noting that the Body Slam move only comes about in Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes back, but you shouldn’t see any locked crates in the first game anyway.

There are also metal crates that are entirely gray/black and cannot be broken in any way, by spin or by belly flop. They are usually used as platforms to help you reach the next area or reach breakable crates that are in the air.

That’s all you need to know about breaking the metal and locked crates in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
