Far as RPGs go, 2015 is looking a little short right now. One title which is in the watchlist of any huge RPG fan though is The Witcher 3. It promises a massive open world and enough content to keep even the most demanding of gamers happy for many months to come.
The question on every PC gamers lips however isn’t one of features or gameplay elements however. What those of us who spend hundreds of hours (and thousands of dollars) carefully crafting the best possible ‘rig’ want to know is quite simple. What are The Witcher 3‘s system requirements?
Earlier today, developers CD Projekt Red announced the full PC system requirements for the game. Announced via their Facebook page the requirements are as follows.
Minimum System Requirements
Intel CPU Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz
AMD CPU Phenom II X4 940
Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 660
AMD GPU Radeon HD 7870
RAM 6GB
OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
Direct X 11
HDD Space 40 GBRecommended System Requirements
Intel CPU Core i7 3770 3,4 GHz
AMD CPU AMD FX-8350 4 GHz
Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 770
AMD GPU Radeon R9 290
RAM 8GB
OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
Direct X 11
HDD Space 40 GB
Frankly the requirements are of no particular surprise. It might be out of reach of some, but the minimum requirements at least are not utterly insane. Between 6 and 8 GBs of RAM is fairly popular in gaming PCs, heck it’s often the bare minimum of some. Even the HDD space isn’t as bad as one might have expected. If you don’t have one already the graphics cards recommended are a little steep in price right now, but by the time The Witcher 3 is released they may be cheaper to pick up.
Do you think the system requirements for The Witcher 3 are pretty good? Will you have to upgrade your own rig to allow the game to run? Let us know in the comments down below.
