Upcoming Witcher 3 Expansions Are Almost as Big as The Witcher 2

It's okay, we didn't need lives.

In case you were already drowning in Witcher 3 content, from the hours of game time to the weekly DLC additions, you should know there’s even more life-consuming fun on the horizon.

Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz shared in a recent interview that the upcoming story expansions will add a collective 30 hours of game time, with the first amounting to about 10 hours and the second aiming for around 20.

“It’s almost the size of The Witcher 2,” Tomaszkiewicz told GameReactor. “And it will be cool, it will be new stories, it will be very emotional stories and I think that people will be happy.”

“The expansion packs will be whole new storylines with all the elements you’ve got in the main story (like cutscenes, new characters, new items, new Gwent cards) and many, many more,” Tomaszkiewicz shared. “They will be quite long.”

Tomaszkiewicz believes it’s possible the expansions will be even bigger than these estimates: “because it’s always like this (that when we plan some time or hours, it’s twice or something like this), but I’m not promising anything right now.”

Hearts of Stone, the first expansion, will take place in the existing territory of No Man’s Land. Releasing this October for $9.99, Hearts of Stone will feature Geralt’s encounter with the mysterious Man of Glass. Coming early 2016, Blood and Wine will take place in the new area of Toussaint, and will be available for $19.99.

Players can purchase both Witcher 3 DLCs together in the $24.99 Expansion Pass.

There will be no Witcher 3 DLC available this week, as the studio is opting instead to release Patch 1.07.

And though you may be itching for your DLC fix, be sure to NOT download next week’s DLC, which was released too early and may cause a variety of game issues.
