Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide Gameplay Trailer Arrives

We're going to need a bigger catboat.

Games Workshop have really been hammering the licensing stone this past year or so. Everything from a MOBA to mobile strategy titles have found their way out into the world. It looked like we were going to get another – probably disappointing – release coming from this recent splurge of licensing when Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide appeared. Then this gameplay teaser trailer showed up and, well, it sure has hell shut us up.

Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide puts you into the boots of a fighting fellow, one of five in a team, who are hellbent on expelling the Skaven threat from the city of Ubersriek using whatever comes to hand. During the gameplay teaser trailer above, everything from humongous hammers to quick-firing bows are shown making merry murder and putting giant rat men (the Skaven) to the ground with the gusto of a man-sized rat trap.

The footage above is pre-Alpha so if you have any reservations so far, some of them may be ironed out as the game progresses further through its development cycle. Developers FatShark are trying to build a game where five people can work together to stem the tide of vermin (oh so that’s where the name came from!) and just have a good time slaying rats with their buddies.

Now we know what you’re thinking and we somewhat agree, it looks like Dark Messiah and Left 4 Dead had some sort of weird baby. Then proceeded to give that baby a billion rat pets. Still, that’s a couple of good parents to have when you’re a young game.

Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide is due for release sometime in the latter half of 2015, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Does Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide tempt you already? Or are you going to hold back your opinion until there’s some more polished footage? Let us know in the comments box below.
