Yesterday, we reported the news that the final piece of free DLC for The Witcher 3 will be a New Game Plus mode. Whilst no exact details were announced, it was exciting to know that soon we’ll be able to restart our journey as Geralt of Rivia with some added bonuses.
On the CD Projekt RED forums, The Witcher 3’s Community Lead & Website Coordinator Marcin Momot gave some new details on the New Game Plus mode. Marcin wrote:
What carries over?
Player experience (if you’re below level 30 when finishing the vanilla game, you will be bumped to level 30 for the start of NG+), items (excluding: quest items, books & letters, Gwent cards, usable items, trophies), money and alchemy recipes. When starting New Game Plus you can select any difficulty level.
You can obtain the Death Match achievement when playing the NG+ mode.
What’s the starting level of the character when beginning NG+?
The same that you had when finishing the game, if above 30, otherwise you start at level 30. You also get a free Clearing Potion at the start so you can reset your skills and try a different build.
It’s very interesting that players will be able to reassign their skill points if they wish to try a different play style in The Witcher 3. It’s still unknown when the mode will be released but it looks like it might be a few weeks.
