Metal Gear Solid V creator Hideo Kojima left Konami after a much publicized parting of ways. Soon afterwards, Konami began removing Kojima’s name from the game. Fans quickly responded by constantly reminding the world that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is indeed a Hideo Kojima game.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released in exactly one week, and so far the game has been getting some seriously awesome reviews from all the major publications. It seems that the employees at Australia’s JB Hi-Fi stores are also big fans of Hideo Kojima and Metal Gear Solid, and have been placing large banners above stands containing The Phantom Pain that clearly state the game is Hideo Kojima’s.
No doubt Kojima would be very pleased to see that even retailers are eager for people to know that this is truly his game. If you’d like to embrace the fine work that Kojima put into the game, then perhaps you’d like to take a look at this alternate Metal Gear Solid V cover art which you can print out and put into the case. We think it looks way better! On a serious note, despite having left Konami, Kojima recently stated on Twitter that he intends to keep creating in one form or another for the rest of his life.
