Project CARS Gets Delayed… For the Third Time

We'll all get a free gift though.

After being delayed for the third time now, it’s almost starting to feel like the hype for Project CARS is beginning to dissipate.

Bandai Namco and Slightly Mad Studios announced some time back that the game would be released in April. However, they’ve recently announced that the game has been pushed back to mid-May.

According to a news post on the official European Bandai Namco website, “Project CARS is by far the grandest and most intricately detailed of them all. Despite therefore the game being 99.9% complete, the remaining 0.1% attending to small issues and bugs has been tricky to anticipate. We’re absolutely dedicated to delivering a ground-breaking experience and by targeting mid-May fans can be assured that’s what they’ll receive.”

Ian Bell, the Head of Studio at Slightly Mad Studios also mentions that they will “offer some free content to all players as compensation for this short delay” and that “this gift, that we’re sure is going to excite fans, will be available from day one and revealed shortly.”

In case anyone’s keeping count, Project CARS was originally planned for launch last November, but got delayed to March, got delayed a second time to April, and now it’s been delayed to May. Nice.
