Project CARS is nearing its May release and race fans are preparing to spring off the start line into Slightly Mad Studio’s latest gasoline-fueled joyride. It’s already looking gorgeous but there’s something particularly special brewing in the Project CARS garage. That outstanding aspect being the sheer amount of tracks on offer.
Racers can look forward to racing across 32 different courses ranging from the legendary 17.6 Nürburgring all the way to the Belgian raceway Zolder. In keeping with the game’s meticulous attention to detail, each one promises to be something spectacular to gaze upon. Whether or not they’ll race well is a different matter entirely, something that we’ll have to wait until launch to know for sure. That’s 32 different locations and over 100 separate layouts. Not all of these are licensed so are simply recreations of the originals — Azure Coast for instance is Slightly Mad Studio’s approximation of Monaco. Taking that into account though, this represents hundreds of miles of tarmac all to be raced from the comfort of your own chair. Project CARS will release worldwide May 7 on Steam, will physical copies and those coming to console arriving May 7 in Europe and Australasia, May 8 in the UK, and May 12 in the United States and Canada.
