Natsume Inc has announced that they’re working on the latest entry in their long running Harvest Moon series, which will be titled “Seeds of Memories”. Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories will be coming out for the Nintendo Wii U, and it will also be the first Harvest Moon title to be released for the PC via Steam.
“From the farm to the town, we wanted Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories to evoke the feeling of a classic Harvest Moon game with modern twists!” said Hiro Maekawa, the President and CEO of Natsume Inc. “We’re also excited to finally bring the Harvest Moon series to the Nintendo Wii U, PC, and mobile platforms, where fans have definitely told us they want to see the series.”
Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories will be inspired by “the old-school gameplay of the very first games,” so long time players will get a sense of nostalgia while discovering “exciting gameplay twists,” according to the press release.
Throughout the game, players will have to befriend townspeople and complete a variety of challenges in order to collect all the Seeds of Memories. These challenges will include catching a giant fish, giving someone a gift they love, and raising their first cow.
Players will be tasked with revitalizing a farm and they’ll be able to get old favorites such as cows, sheep, and chickens. They will also be able to get a rideable pet horse and a pet dog as well. The new pet in question is a bobcat, which will start off wild till the player can befriend it.
Along with taking care of the farm, players will also be able to mine, fish, cook, and forge. Players will need to get materials to upgrade their tools, and they’ll be able to take part in a variety of festivals such as a Cooking Contest and Starry Night Festival. There will also be 10 marriage candidates – 5 bachelors and 5 bachelorettes – so players can find that special someone they want to spend their farming life with.
Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories will be released on Wii U, PC through Steam, and Android/iOS this winter. The game will also be making an appearance at this year’s E3.
