If there’s one thing that sets Blizzard’s MOBA Heroes of the Storm apart from every other MOBA on the market, it’s mounts. When you travel across the map, you can do so in style riding anything from a cyber wolf to a rainbow unicorn. Considering all of the material Blizzard has to pull from their library of games, there are plenty of potential mounts that will hopefully see future release. Here are 5 possible Heroes of the Storm mounts that would be absolutely awesome to see in-game.
Hawkstrider
Before you exclaim that Heroes of the Storm doesn’t need a chicken mount, just take a moment to imagine it. Let me paint you a word picture. Diablo, the Lord of Terror is barreling down the middle lane. His eyes are set on the enemy team’s towers and there is no stopping him. He’s ready to charge into anyone that stands in his way. What is his mount of choice? A distressed looking hawkstrider who probably thinks carrying Diablo on his back is way beyond his pay grade.
Mini Battlecruiser
The people demand more Starcraft themed mounts! Just imagine Tychus and Raynor riding in on little battle cruisers. They should probably be kart-style so as not to create a size problem, but it’d be awesome to see little cruisers zipping around the lanes. It would also make your Grunty Murky roleplaying 20 times better.
Corehound
Let’s be honest here, Corehounds are just so freakin’ cool looking. Nothing says “don’t mess with me” quite like riding into battle on a two headed lava dog of death. Unless you’re riding in on a Hawkstrider, that is.
Turbo Trike
For this one, it’d be a lot of fun to make it another one of the 20k mounts similar to the piggy bank. You could have the traditional Goblin trike mount with a side car holding a money bag. The money bag could have dollar bills flying out of it with a Goblin hopelessly hanging onto the back of the trike trying to salvage some of the money. Just an idea. Just a really, really good idea.
Nydus Worm
Zagara shouldn’t be the only hero who can use Nydus worms to her advantage. How cool would it be to have a Nydus worm mount that pops out of the ground and just has you on its back? It won’t take you through any tunnels, but it could prove to be pretty menacing looking.
Boogie Board
For the final mount, we should show some love to our multiple-legged heroes. Let’s face it, they should have more options aside from the magic carpet. Imagine, if you will, Azmodan gliding into battle on a giant floating boogie board. Some added wave effects around the board would also be nice to really give it that beachy feel.
