A Whole New World
ARK: Survival Evolved has been making waves over the past few weeks. It quickly surpassed one million sales, and has begun to offer deeper mod support to the community. With that being said, there is no surprise that there are tons of mods in the works to further increase the fun to be had in this survival game. One mod which is already garnering plenty of attention is Terra Nova – A New World.
Terra Nova adds a whole new map for players to explore in ARK: Survival Evolved. Its beautiful open areas, dense forests, and unique design make it a stand out. Plus, if you’ve sunk hundreds of hours into the game already, a new, unknown land will help you pour a few hundred more. It’s still being updated regularly with life and more resources, but what is already there is definitely worth trying out.
Colorful Dinos
ARK: Survival Evolved is an amazingly beautiful game. But even with all of its detail and scope, sometimes looking at all of the browns, greys, and greens can become a bit dull. So, why not add a bit of color to your survivor’s life?
The All Colors Dinos mod mixes things up to add a much more varied palette to the wild life of ARK: Survival Evolved. We’re talking white tigers, pink raptors, and being chased by a giant, blue t-rex. While it may not change the gameplay in any way, it sure makes things a lot more interesting to look at.
There Are Levels to This…
ARK: Survival Evolved is playable solo, but it encourages individuals to play in groups. One way in which the game does this is by not allowing a player to learn every single engram (skill) in the game by way of its level cap. This would essentially push players into playing with others who have a different skill set. While that is cool, it may block those who wish to do everything on their own from accomplishing certain tasks. Luckily, a modder has created something to allow players to not be limited just because they are lone savages.
The Increased Level Cap mod provides the ability to earn enough experience to learn every single skill in the game. Please note that this mod was only created with local/solo play in mind so its interaction with multiplayer servers is being worked on. Also, you must create a new character after installing the mod in order for it to take effect.
Shiny Pokemon Dinosaurs
You wanna know one thing that a game about surviving on an island with dinosaurs is missing? More dinosaurs. Seriously, think about it. You’re playing ARK: Survival Evolved, slowly working your way up the food chain by killing and taming savage beasts, all while building a life for yourself and upping your arsenal. Eventually, you’re going to run out of new and interesting things to kill. It will become a song and dance that you know all too well once you become one of those select few who have reached peak survivor status. But, as with everything else, there’s a mod for that.
The Improved Dinos – Rare Respawns mod adds new variations to some of the deadliest beasts found in ARK: Survival Evolved. These color swapped, shinier versions offer a greater challenge to players who have been looking for just that. They also provide much better drops than any other dinosaur in the game. Also, the creator of the mod was kind enough to make sure that these deadly variations don’t appear near areas where new players spawn, and are easily avoided for those who can’t make the cut. If you’re out to find something unique, what better than a shiny velociraptor?
New Ammo Types
ARK: Survival Evolved provides players with plenty of ways to hunt their prey, but it’s understandable to want more. It’s a good thing that there is a modding community building up around this rising star of a game who have the same sentiments. One mod in particular is starting to provide survivors all over the world with new, interesting ways of dealing with the threats they confront out in the ARK.
The Extra Modified Ammo mod adds some cool ways to put down even the most persistent of opposition. Explosive arrows, fire arrows, poison ammo for your slingshot, tranquilizer darts, all of these can be used to update your arsenal to be deadlier and much more reliable as you forge your own path in the dangerous world.
