8 Months After Release, Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Adds Online Multiplayer

The multiplayer mode was Dead, but now it's Alive.

The Steam version of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round has been incomplete since launching this March. The game released missing two stages, Steam cloud support, and without any online multiplayer.

The patch was meant to release in June, but that update was consistently delayed until October. Now, Steam players can play the game online.

The 1.04 patch of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round changes the game’s inconsistent “beta” multiplayer to the full, final version. But there are still a few issues compared to the console versions of the game.

PC players have access to Ranked multiplayer matches, but they cannot create lobbies to spectate games or invite friends. Lobbies were included in the console version since launch. Also, the Steam version is based on the PS3 version of the game, meaning it has less graphical effects than the PS4 or Xbox One ports.

Koei Tecmo hasn’t offered much comment as to why the PC version of the game lacks so many features or why it took nearly an entire year to add multiplayer to their game. But even with this patch, it seems like their focus is mostly on their console games.
