5 Rocket League DLC Packs That Would Be Perfect Additions

Great Scott! What else could Rocket League add?

Mad Max

Rocket League has seen a fair share of add-ons to this point, but the recently released Back to the Future pack adds a whole new world of possibilities. Anything that has memorable or unique vehicles could be up for DLC grabs, and few series have more memorable vehicles than the Mad Max series. The one movie car that may be as iconic as the DeLorean is Max’s Pursuit Special.

Add on some other special vehicles from the series and you have quite the special DLC pack. There are some real opportunities here – a new topper can be a Warboy riding on top of your tricked out wasteland car. A Thunderdome arena to battle it out in? What a lovely day that would be.

Wipeout

Although the cars of Wipeout don’t have wheels, bringing them into the Rocket League pantheon could add an interesting bit of flair to the mix. In a crossover project of sorts, you could see some kind of “Future” DLC, where the cars change but the game stays the same.

The high octane racers in Wipeout would feel right at home playing the zany game, and it would be a great crossover particularly for the PlayStation version of the game. Adding new cars, and of course boost effects, the sci-fi racer could definitely add an interesting graphical variance to the already beautiful game.

Batmobile Pack

Batman-Forever-Batmobile1- Rocket League

There’s only one vehicle more well known than a DeLorean or an Interceptor. One car to rule them all. The Batmobile. Batman’s ride of choice has helped him time and again to take out the super villains threatening Gotham, so why not take a break and play some car soccer? There are so many different designs for the Batmobile too, meaning you could add multiple versions into one pack. The tumbler from the Nolan trilogy, the original design, maybe even the Arkham Knight one.

A Gotham themed arena would be a hit as well, with the bat-signal glowing in the sky above. Of course, the normal additions of flags and toppers could get a boost by adding Batman items and custom paint jobs in. The caped crusaders cars are known for doing some ridiculous stunts, and they’d feel right at home with the wall driving power boosting vehicles of Rocket League.

Hanna Barbera’s Wacky Races

Wacky Races Rocket League

This one might be a small stretch for a younger crowd that may not know what Wacky Races is, but bringing in the colorful cars of characters like Penelope Pitstop and Dick Dastardly would be a neat throwback. Wacky Races was just what its name implies, a goofy racing cartoon with purposefully cliched characters.

Made by the famous production company Hanna Barbera, the show debuted in the late 60’s, spawning additional shows focusing on specific characters. But, the car designs are memorable and unique. Why not add some goofy giant head car toppers of the characters as well? Who knows, maybe you can throw in a special extra as well, and give players the chance to bring the gang along and drive the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo.

Speed Racer

Speed Racer Rocket League

There’s no other property that would fit better with the spirit of Rocket League than Speed Racer. A series all about crazy cars doing crazy things in races, Speed Racer makes a perfect fit as an add-on. Just the addition of the iconic Mach 5 would be enough to warrant a purchase for many, not to mention other drivers like Racer X and his Shooting Star.

Here you also have a few options with the original car designs, as well as the feature film designs. Build another arena inspired by Speed Racer, with blasting neon and crowds cheering in the background. Add in some emblems from the original anime, and toppers like Speed’s helmet and you’ve got yourself prime DLC that completely fits the tone of Rocket League.
