The Last of Us

Multiplayer
The Last of Us Online puts the player into a true survival situation.

You become a survivor in The Last of Us universe and you must fight for the remaining resources. Brutality, strategy and stealthiness are required in this extremely detailed and competitive multiplayer game.

The Last of Us has won dozens of awards ever since its original release in 2013 and developers Naughty Dog not only presented a thrilling story mode, but a fantastic multiplayer mode as well. Players fight in factions trying to gain food and resources for their growing parties. Different game modes, such as Survivor, require team work, communication and patience in order to successfully defeat your opponents.

The most impressive aspect of this multiplayer mode is the detail of crafting and approach players can take to win. Items are placed throughout the map for the players to use and craft stronger weapons or ammunition. Using similar mechanics to the main story mode, like Listen Mode, the game impressively places players into a real competitive survival situation.

Assassin’s Creed Unity

Assassin’s Creed Unity’s Multiplayer is ambitious and innovative.

Although Assassin’s Creed Unity had an extremely rough release, the ambition of its multiplayer aspect is impressive. Players are now able to explore Paris in co-op and also undertake assassinations, heists and certain missions together. This is a dream for veterans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Players can play together, form a brotherhood and complete tasks expertly through cooperation and communication. Unity‘s game mechanics allow several different ways of completing missions where the AI react to whatever decision the player makes. This opens up the multiplayer to individuality and how good the player is at being an Assassin.

This release follows a successful line of multiplayer games by Ubisoft in 2014, including The Crew and Watch Dogs .

Evolve

Evolve will be released in February 2015.

Evolve has been marketed as an extremely efficient online co-operative game where communication and team work are crucial. Players form a team to take down a controlled Monster using particular skills and techniques.

The true brilliance of this multiplayer is how challenging and powerful each Monster is and their individual differences in powers. Players have to all play their part successfully in order to capture the Monster in the game. Evolve, in addition, has several different game modes players can attempt to challenge themselves further.

Evolve‘s multiplayer brings something unique into the upcoming gaming releases and focusses heavily on cooperation and communication.

Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V Online brings explosive fun in a co-operative mode.

After a rough start, Grand Theft Auto V‘s multiplayer took the world by storm on its official release. Players could play together in a massive open world where anything is possible, no matter how explosive it is. Multiplayer existed in the last game, but the latest asset to the Grand Theft Auto franchise adds so much more depth and variety.

You can literally spend hours racing or doing missions made from Rockstar or players around the world. Players can freely explore, interact with players and AI as they wish and have the option to purchase property and any car they desire.

Grand Theft Auto V has been attacked repeatedly since release by scams and hacks, hampering the development of DLC content. However, after the official announcement of Heists in 2015, the multiplayer aspect still continues to grow in positive ways.

Elder Scrolls Online

Elder Scrolls Online brings a lot of customisation into an MMORPG.

Skyrim took the world by storm in 2011 and remains as one of the greatest games of the current generation. Massive open world, exploration and hours of quests and gameplay had thousands of players hooked instantly. Many called for an online opportunity, to enjoy such a beautiful world with their friends. And they got it.

Elder Scrolls Online was released in April 2014, and it gave players the opportunity they wanted to play cooperatively in a massive world. The MMORPG involves similar gameplay to the previous Elder Scrolls games and provides customization and major exploration.

Elder Scrolls Online had originally been abused for being a pay-to-play game, however with the vast amount of content and opportunity, players will still be impressed with what Bethesda Softworks was able to create.
