What kind of player will you be in H1Z1?

The zombie apocalypse brings out the worst in people as terrifying and dark decisions have to be made. Bandits have already moved on to the dark side, where selfishness and brutality corrupts their mindsets.

These types of players are desperate to survive and will kill on sight in order to get improved gear, items, and weapons. DayZ has illustrated the result of  bandits where cooperation and team-work has been little to non-existent so far. H1Z1 will definitely involve similar players who want to survive alone, or with a small group, and so other players should always be cautious.

H1Z1 focuses on team-building where survival is made easier with a larger group. With zombie hordes being a major aspect of the game, traversing the landscape as a one man death squad may not be the best idea.

This latest zombie survival game has elements to prevent banditry (such as no server hopping to find better loot) and is looking much more like a cohesive style of game than others within the same genre.

Roleplayers

Base-Building is a large aspect in H1Z1.

We’ve all seen The Walking Dead, and video games are seemingly the closest players can get to recreating the characters, scenes and aspects from the show. These types of players live through the game, react to adversity, and attempt to bring reality to a virtual world. It’s fun, interesting, and can lead to some imaginative scenarios.

Roleplaying intertwines itself with the other types of players, brings out emotions, and creates a much more immersive experience overall. What kind of person would you be in a zombie apocalypse? A brutal leader with a thirst for blood? Or maybe you are more technical in building or fixing materials?

Roleplaying allows you to play a character, and you’ll find these kind of players throughout H1Z1.

Gangs

Cooperation and teamwork is key for survival in H1Z1.

For either good or bad reasons, these types of players aim to create large groups to travel the world with. Wearing similar clothes to distinguish from other survivors, players should always be cautious when meeting a gang. There will be more of them than you, much more geared for the apocalypse, and can be incredibly tactical towards specific objectives.

Differing from bandits, these type of people thrive on each other, needing expertise and particular skills to survive. This cooperation will be a crucial aspect of H1Z1, and can lead to some very advantageous situations especially with base-building and looting.

Joining a gang will lead to a better chance of survival, but always be cautious as they may not be as nice as they seem to be.

All of the Above

Vehicles, crafting and a weather system will be present in Early Access.

A lot will happen in H1Z1, and you may find yourself roleplaying or killing innocent people in order to survive. The game is open for decision making, and every move could lead to your immediate death or increased chance of survival. Everyone dies in the zombie apocalypse, and your fate could come from a bullet or even pure starvation.

H1Z1 Early Access will be released on the 15th of January on Steam, and can be found here.
