The Game Awards always offer up brand new game reveals and trailers, and 2016 isn’t going to be any different. Nintendo has confirmed that the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will appear at the show in some form.
Nintendo of America took to Twitter to announce the news, simply saying that an exclusive look at the upcoming title will be at the show. This is incredibly vague but we’ll likely see more gameplay and possibly the reveal of new features or story elements.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was originally revealed in 2014, slated to release the following year exclusively for the Wii U. But 2015 came and went without so much as a mention of the title, except the announcement of the title’s delay into 2016. It was revealed earlier this year, along with the game’s first gameplay and official title, that Breath of the Wild had actually slipped into 2017 and would no longer be a Wii U exclusive, instead releasing for Wii U and Nintendo Switch simultaneously.
The Game Awards will stream this Thursday, December 1, honoring the best releases and developers of the past year while simultaneously looking forward to the future of the industry. Other titles confirmed for the show include Mass Effect: Andromeda, showing off the title’s first gameplay and a mysterious title from Gearbox Software.
Catch the Game Awards this Thursday at 8:30 PM Eastern Time. Check out the event’s official site for a full list of nominees and more information on where to watch.
