You Can Play Flower on Your iPhone Starting Today

Flowing in the wind.

Studio thatgamecompany may be hard at work on its upcoming title Sky, but that hasn’t stopped it from making a surprise announcement. Today, one of its most popular games, Flower, is available for both iPhone and iPad. If you’ve slept on the game for quite some time, now’s your opportunity to give it a try.

Flower released all the way back in 2009 for PlayStation 3, and it finds you flowing along with the breeze as you guide flower petals throughout lonely, beautiful, and sometimes mournful landscapes. You used the PlayStation 3 controller to guide the petals along via motion sensors, but you’ll do the same thing with your iPhone or iPad’s touch screen now.

The game costs $4.99, but it’s well worth the entry price, especially if you need time to relax and decompress after a hard day. It’s one of the few games out there that you don’t really have to worry about completing anything difficult or worrying about time limits in stages, or anything like that. Just breathe, and guide the flowers. It’s very cathartic.

If you like what you see, you might want to give Sky a try when it launches this fall for iOS and Apple TV.
