Today Sega released a brand new gallery of screenshots and a few new details on the upcoming JRPG Ryu ga Gotoku 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness, also known as Yakuza: Like a Dragon in the west.
This time around the spotlight is on “Human Power,” which we have heard about before and is a concept Persona fans will be very familiar with. It represents Ichiban’s Kasuga as a person and his personality. Improving it brings several benefits.
Not only higher Human Power improves the resistance to some abnormal conditions in battle, but it also increases the effect of extreme skills and is an important factor in meeting new people and getting closer to girls.
On top of that, some of the jobs you can change to have a minimum Human Score stat requirement. For instance, to become a Host you need to have your “Charm” stat at 3 or higher.
Below are the effects on each stat on abnormal status resistance.
- Passion increases resistance to Extreme Skill Seal.
- Mental increases resistance to Sleep.
- Kindness increases resistance to Rage.
- Cheerfulness increases resistance to Fear.
- Intellect increses resustance to Confusion.
- Charm increases reistance to Seduction.
Some of the special skills of the “Brave” job are also enhanced by Human Power.
For instance, the effect of “Love of the Brave” is dramatically enhanced (from two to three digits of HP healed to the whole party) by Kindness.
High human power also opens up new paths. For instance, there is a man who doesn’t let you enter a certain toilet until your charm is high enough. You may find something good there.
Some NPC can also be recruited to work at the company of which Ichiban becomes the president, but only if the appropriate Human Power stat is high enough.
Last, but certainly not least, there are ladies in the game you can become more intimate with, but only if you grow the Human Power stat they require. Giving them gifts also increases intimacy, and winning their hearts may trigger a special event.
