The Xbox One X has officially launched and now Microsoft can offer players the most powerful console on the market. With 4K gameplay, improved frame rates, and faster loading times, the Xbox One X is certainly a tempting console but, as Xbox head Phil Spencer said, it’s designed to appeal more to gaming connoisseurs.
In an interview with CNBC, Spencer was asked who he thought the target audience for the new powerful console was. He replied: “This is for the discerning connoisseur of gaming [that] has a 4K television, [who] wants to see the absolute best visuals. This box is definitely targeted toward the customer that buys the most and plays the most.”
The less expensive (and less powerful) Xbox One S will remain on sale and Spencer has said he believes this is the console that will appeal to a wider audience. He went on to say that having two consoles available is great for giving players choice.
So far, the Xbox One X has been quite popular and many games are getting updates which will see them perform better thanks to the new hardware.
