Modding is about to become a lot easier on the Xbox One thanks to a new partnership between Microsoft and Paradox Interactive. According to a press release, the new Paradox Mods will allow users to create and distribute mods across both PC and Xbox One “with a single upload.”

Currently, the only game that Xbox One players can access mods for is Surviving Mars, however the feature will be coming to other Paradox Interactive games later this year. You can take a look at Paradox Mod’s current selection on their website.

The program is launching with over 30 Surviving Mars mods that Xbox One players can download now. To download mods, go to the Surviving Mars title screen, open the mod manager, select the mods you want and they will be downloaded to your game.

“Modding has been, and remains an important part of the Paradox community. As we have diversified the way we distribute our games, we want to make sure all our players can take part in the creation process,” Product Owner for Paradox Mods Anders Törlind said in the press release. “For Surviving Mars, we have worked with mod creators to support Paradox Mods with some of the best mods available, all in one place and downloadable in-game or simply using a web browser. We really look forward to unlocking the world of modding for all members of our community, regardless of what system they are using to play our games.”

Mods have always been limited on consoles, making an open modding platform a large stand-out, even if it is currently limited to Paradox Interactive games.

We will have to wait and see how quickly and how far this modding platform spreads on Xbox, and what it could mean for the future. Stay tuned to Twinfinite for any updates on the Paradox Mod platform.
