Microsoft announced a new subscription plan called Xbox All Access that offers an Xbox console, Xbox Live Gold, and Xbox Game Pass for a monthly fee over two years.
Leaked last week, the cell phone-like plan allows users to finance the hardware and two services for a discounted price each month for 24 months than buying all three separately at retail cost. The two options for Xbox All Access are an Xbox One S 1 TB with two years of Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold for $21.99 per month, or an Xbox One X with two years of Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold for $34.99 per month.
There is no upfront cost for either plan and both are interest-free for 24 months. Microsoft also said that Xbox All Access users will be able to keep their consoles at the end of the 24-month subscription.
The Xbox One S plan comes out to a total of almost $528, whereas buying all three products at retail price would cost $660. The Xbox One X plan is about $840, only a $20 discount from the $860 if buying it all separately.
According to the official website, Xbox All Access is only available in the United States at participating Microsoft Stores from Aug. 27 until Dec. 31, 2018 or “while supplies last.” Those interested in the program must also sign up for a Dell Preferred Account, where Dell Financial Services must approve with a credit check and handles financing payments.
