Warcraft, the film based on the hugely popular MMO World of Warcraft, is out in the US in just a few days. No doubt many WoW fans have their ticket booked and are eager to see the film.
You may not know that the Director, Duncan Jones, is actually the son of the recently deceased musician David Bowie. It’s a great shame that Bowie passed away before being able to see his son’s film hit the big screen but, in an interview with The Daily Beast, Jones revealed that he showed his father an early cut of the film.
“I showed him an early cut of this and showed him some of the effects shots,” Jones said. “You know, for everyone else he was one person. For me, he was my dad. And he was always interested in things I was working on. So I showed him what I was working on, and he was all excited for me and happy that I was doing the thing that I enjoyed doing in my life.”
The loss of David Bowie earlier this year was devastating to millions of his fans, however, it was no doubt far worse for his son. It’s great to know that Bowie got to see an early cut of his son’s blockbuster before he passed.
Warcraft is due to be released in June 10 in the US and stars the likes of Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, and Dominic Cooper.
