It's that much longer until we see Tom Hardy done up as Venom.

Fans of Eddie Brock and Venom may be a bit dismayed to hear that the upcoming Spider-Man spin-off movie is facing a delay that is over a month long. The Venom film, which was set to start production in early September now is set to start shooting much closer to the end of October of this year. The word on the street is that there are still a number of key crew roles still vacant and Omega Underground spotted a couple of open positions that slated the start of the production period being Oct. 23.

So far, it seems that although the production is being pushed back by over a month the movie will still release by its scheduled Oct. 5, 2018, date. Although not as much time as if they would have started on Sept. 1, it still gives the company just under a year to shoot the film, edit it together with effects and sound, and then promote the film through trailers and posters. What it does affect is that fans will have to wait even longer now before they can get sneak peeks and on-set photography released to mull over.

Once the cameras do start rolling, the locations will be Atlanta, Georgia as well as New York City. And the man in the lime light is Tom Hardy, who is known for his roles in The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Mad Max: Fury Road, and more. Ruben Fleischer will be the man in the director’s chair calling all the shots. It is also rumored that Riz Ahmed (Rogue One, The Night Of) will have a major role in the upcoming Sony picture.
