The trailer showcases the opening cutscene of the game, on top of the first look at gameplay in action.

We also get to take a look at plenty of screenshots showing relevant elements of the game.

The combat has been dramatically evolved from from the original game reflecting feedback from the fans. There will be multiple difficulty levels which will let you experience the action in a more relaxed way if you want.

The characteristics and performance of the playable characters have also been changed in many ways.

New full-voiced scenarios titled “Warrior Stories” have been added on top of the main story based on Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth.

RPG elements have been evolved with the introduction of skill boards letting you enjoy the eveolution of the characters.

You can also enjoy a home base where you can deepen the relationships with other characters, progress the story, and strengthen your heroes. It can be expanded and customized with points you can earn while playing.

The story isn’t narrated with static images, but instead dialogue scenes are rendered in 3D. Many animated cutscenes are also included in the game to underline key points of the storytelling.

An online co-op mode is also included prompting players to complete missions with friends, but you can enjoy the same map offline on your own.

DLC costumes and stamps from Utawarerumono ZAN will carry over into the sequel.

Utawarerumono Zan 2 will be released, at least in Japan, on July 22, 2021, for PS5 and PS4.

At the moment, no western release has been announced. That’s not surprising considering that the game has just been revealed. The original Utawarerumono ZAN was published in the west by NIS America.
