During Ubisoft’s financial conference call for investors and analysts, chief executive officer Yves Guillemot talked about the next-generation consoles.
Guillemot mentioned that Ubisoft will take advantage of the potential of the two machines and that potential is “really high.” Ubisoft believes that players will be “very impressed” by the quality of what the new consoles will bring to the market.
The fact that they will be backward compatible and they will run “almost all the back catalog of the previous consoles.”
This is new in the industry and it’ll help the old generation to continue to be relevant on the market for the years to come and it’ll “grow the market a lot.”
Ubisoft expects to see lots of consoles being sold and a lot of marketing to promote those machines that will be more powerful. On top of that, there will be a new increase in the total addressable market as the old consoles will remain strong.
